Hey everyone,

I'm looking into testing my agent now.
I'm testing against MCTSBot and SimpleBot at the moment, as well as ChumpBot/FlockBot, although they don't appear to perform too well.

I was wondering if anyone has any basic bots that they'd be willing to share? They don't have to perform well, at all, just ideally would play different strategies.

If not i'll probably code some up, although it would be ideal if anyone has something already..?

Can you test against the Poker Academy bots?

In short, yes.

However I'm on OS X and can't find a cracked copy of PA to use. I've had a look at Poker-Genius, but not sure whether to fork out the money. It is discounted at the moment at around £44.. Although i've also heard it's very similar (/carbon copy) to PA.

I'm running simulations with opentestbet at the moment.
It doesn't seem possible to (easily) run the PA/PG bots on opentestbed due to the .jar being obfuscated, although I may be wrong.

PS just to make sure, i'm not asking how to reverse-engineer the PA/PG bots, only wondering if there's an obvious way to use them in opentestbed that i'm missing.

You can use PA bots in the testbed but it is not obvious how to do it and if you have not got past the encryption of bots then I would not even bother. I did some tests and the bots in PA actually lose to the simple bot. I did actually create some bots that inherited from the PA bots and made them better but in the end I just created some test bots to test against. This was for NL I think the FL bots are probably better but did not do any testing.
