Post subject:  A way for developers and poker AI scripters to cooperate?

I've read all the posts in this new forum and gone through a lot of the ones in the old one so I don't think this has been asked before.

But I've seen a lot of threads where a non-dev wants to write the AI for a bot but finds the stealth and all that too difficult.
And everyone usually replies that the reason you can't cooperate is that there's nothing stopping the developer from just taking your AI script after you give it to him. The developer can put malware in the bot.

So, I want to start a discussion where we can brainstorm ways to make a cooperation like this possible. So that the AI writer keeps ownership of his script and the developer keeps ownership of the "shell".. or as close as possible to that kind of arrangement. We want to remove as much of the need for genuine trust from the cooperation so that there's no backstabbing in these arrangements.

One suggestion I have is that, the AI scripter pays for the source code of the shell and then pays another developer to verify that there's nothing malicious in the source code. What do you think about this idea? I mean it seems like a simple solution and I'm surprised if someone hasn't thought of it before. Based on all the threads, there definitely are a lot of people that would be interested in this type of purchases/cooperations.

Another is that, you don't pay for someone to do the work for you but instead, guide you as much as needed to do it yourself. This would also be a lot cheaper and probably the most safe arrangement.

If my suggestions don't work, then we can still try to think of other ways to do this.

I saw Spears suggest before to someone who wanted to sell his shell that he could instead rent it out. Anyone who wanted to use it would have to pay 1 cent per hand played. Price might be better to be a bit lower though, imho. And the shell would be on a server that the developer controls.
