If you're under VM then you show that you have at least some computer knowledge and you might be a threat, so the system flags you for review (can be automated, can be manual - doesn't mattter at this point).
That review might pass with flying colors if you're solid on every other aspect of stealth (I'm not even talking about stupid stuff like 24/7 play with no breaks) or it might be your downfall if you mess up at least one more thing...
Sure, but afaik the poker client is able to scan your processes, and I havent heard of a 100% secure method of hiding them yet, so isnt a VM the lesser evil?
