We'll get this sorted out once spears is back from his well deserved vacation.

Hello all,

I'm new, currently going through the basics (CPRG papers, Coding the Wheel, etc.). I've been working academically with machine learning in the stock market for the past year or so, but poker looks like a lot more fun.

Hi, this is the same Kratt from the old forum. Thank you spears, for having a cool attitude. Like indiana said in the goodbye thread, all your post reflect great integrity.

New to the forum but an old guest.

Me and my team have been botting for a bit over 6 years. Started out with 10BB shortstack. We then moved (forced) to 20BB. Then again as minbuyins rose were forced to 35BB, 50BB and now 100BB+. We have always played NLHE 6-max.
We are pretty large scale and have played on almost all sites in the world. On average 2012 we played around 3 million hands per month total on all sites/accounts.

When designing our AI we basically did not follow mainstream. We built our own hand strength, our own action scripting language, action packets and reduced game tree without much outside influence. Which has worked well.

Hi! New to the forum :) I'm a poker enthusiast and computer science masters student. I'm mostly interested in finding nash equilibrium approximations, not really so much in the online botting aspect.

Are there still ways to gain access to the higher level forums on the archive site?

Just a change of address as far as I'm concerned. I'll still be lurking and chipping in when something interests me.

No there isn't.

Hello everybody!

I'm from Belgium.

I'm a master student in Computer science and I will make a bot for my master thesis.

I have no experience with bots and a student knowledge of programming.

And... I love poker!

Hello,

Thanks to spears for keeping the forum alive.
I'm a IT master student and has just now started to use these skills in combination with my love for the game. The goal is to make an exploitive multiplayer NL pokerbot.

My regards to you all!

Not a botter but a player and a computer programmer. I have written bits of code to solve simple preflop games for HU games.

Hi, I made some money with poker and I work in software development. Right now I am not interrested in botting, just finding approximate solutions to different games and ways to improve my own game.

Hi everyone again! Tysen Streib here - coauthor of Kill Everyone and The Raiser's Edge. Frequent lurker on the forums, always trying to learn new things. I'm always flirting with ideas for poker, but currently I've started focusing my time on AI for other card/board games.

Just noticed this topic!

Hi, I'm senior web developer looking to broaden my knowledge.
What I want to take away from this little endeavour is a set of skills in math, AI and programming that will help me move further in my career.
If I can earn some money while I'm at it - that would be great, but if not - that wasn't my goal anyway.

Currently I don't feel like I can contribute much, so I usually just lurk and read what other people discuss

Hey,

I think it's time for me to say Hello - again (the old welcome message is in the archive already).
I'm german, in my early 20s and actually more interested in building bots and exploiting poker rooms than in earning money.
I learned programming by building bots and thus have about 3 years experience.
My preferred language is Pascal / Delphi and I am probably the only one around here using such an "outdated" language :P
I hope to exchange as many experiences as possible and learn some new things from professionals :)

Cu

Hello!

I come from Slovenia(Europe). I was also a member on old PokerAI forum, but I didnt post much(but read a lot :) ).
The poker botting came to my interest because of money. That was about 5 years ago. I didnt have any experience with programing.
Since than I spent a lot of time learning and developing, but never came up with some working(money making) bot.

I mainly registered here because I lost all motivation to proceed in this "hobby", and would like to offer my unfinished bot in the marketplace subforum.
I am not looking for some large sums, more like donations.

I really admire some of the guys from the old forum, their knowledge and dedication is really something special.
I was struggling with something I am not really good at, but I hope I learned something in this journey, being computer or just life related.
