When I install a poker client in a VM, is it possible to sniff the incoming network packets on my host computer with a reasonable amount of work, or is it all hidden and directly sent to the VM?
If that was possible, would it not be a very stable and impossible to detect way of getting the gamestate?

You would have to decode the traffic, which might not be easy, especially if it's encrypted. But if you managed that you wouldn't even have to use a vm: you could use a second computer to examine (or even spoof) the traffic

A very long time ago I read about someone who managed to execute a man in the middle attack on Virgin poker http://servv89pn0aj.sn.sourcedns.com/~g ... _poker.txt
