Hi all,

I'm confused about the openCfr leduc implementation available at http://poker.cs.ualberta.ca/open_cfr.html.

I haven't been able to find a figure of how the regret figure should fall with iterations, but in any case, I've bee trying with different abstractions and parameters, and the average regret figure, instead of decreasing, is constantly increasing. So I guess there is something I do not understand.

Code:
# leduc strategy /home/...../open_cfr/fullgame.st2
# made on          :   Wed Feb 13 03:22:18 2013
# abstraction pl1  :   J:Q:K:JJ:JQ:JK:QJ:QQ:QK:KJ:KQ:KK
# abstraction pl2  :   J:Q:K:JJ:JQ:JK:QJ:QQ:QK:KJ:KQ:KK
# iterations:  1    CFR:  7.210069 4.605903     avg. CFR:  7.210069 4.605903
# iterations:  500    CFR:  23.863016 9.042732     avg. CFR:  9.000013 5.022675
# iterations:  1000    CFR:  0.081046 9.554097     avg. CFR:  9.291340 4.847603
# iterations:  1500    CFR:  22.410446 3.485257     avg. CFR:  9.140391 4.803043
# iterations:  2000    CFR:  0.890757 6.010369     avg. CFR:  8.622181 4.401800
[ ..... ]
# iterations:  9998000    CFR:  2.033809 2.000000     avg. CFR:  11.158466 5.012046
# iterations:  9998500    CFR:  38.000000 0.000000     avg. CFR:  11.158638 5.012029
# iterations:  9999000    CFR:  3.000000 0.000000     avg. CFR:  11.158832 5.012015
# iterations:  9999500    CFR:  38.000000 0.000000     avg. CFR:  11.158999 5.011996
# iterations:  10000000    CFR:  8.000000 0.000000     avg. CFR:  11.159190 5.011970

This is the original open CFR implementation. I though the CFR figure was supposed to go down. Could anyone tell me what I am missing? :sherlok

Many thanks!

I actually find it very clear and easy to follow, and also fast. I have been digging into it for a while. But I do not understand why CFR goes up instead of down..... ??

Also, another problem is that I need to code in C or C++, and as I see this code is in C# .....
