Welcome to PokerAI Strategy forums.

Overview
The topics within these forums will be different than the one in a typical poker strategy forum, we do not want to build yet another strategy forum, we have enough of these (e.g. 2+2 strategy forums).

So instead, we're going to use these forums for computer poker strategy discussions. This includes:
  • Game theoretic approaches to the respective games, which a human cannot digest, but a computer program can.
  • These are to be supported by pseudocode/code, analysys, readings and references.
  • Human-digestable strategies, extended by adjustments based on opponent modeling and profiling are also good.
  • Human-digestable strategies presented algorithmically in a concise and easy readable way are good.
  • Advanced programming routines (e.g. NPOT, PPOT, and so on) is core.
  • Automated benchmarking suites are good. Clever hand history analysers are good.
  • The strategy forums are not connected to a specific bot framework. When it's up to coding, that will usually be C++/Java/etc. that you can then get into your personal bot or favourite bot framework.
  • For OPI (and similar frameworks) users, sharing and commenting on specific profiles might also be OK for these forums, as long as the discussion is understandable and applicable also for non-OPI users.
  • I guess the exact definition of what we'll have in and out is going to be formed once the forums get uptospeed.

These forums are restricted and moderated. Registered L1 users can post and read this root forum, but not any of the sub-forums. Beyond that, the forums are organized as follows:
  • Everyone can read or comment in that root forum.
  • All level2+ members have access to all strategy forums. They are in charge of the assignments of forum moderators for the strategy forums.
  • Each strategy forum has independand list of moderators and members.
  • Any forum mod can invite a member in these forums at any time. That's usually based on prior contribution of the member in the general/reg'ed users forum, references, but can also be just personal judgement.
  • We expect guys joining to the strategy forums to contribute over there.
  • Any forum mod can kick-out any forum member at any time. This will usually happen if the member is inactive for a very long time, or he did something idiotic, or so.

How to get access to these forums?
PM indiana if you want to join to a strategy subforum, or to propose yourself for a forum mod. Post a short bio with your PM, or even better, a sample contribution.

Topics discussing poker-botting for real money will be moved out of these strategy forums. We want to keep these forums dedicated to poker theory and computer poker play in general and not mix this with real money poker bot-building.

We have just created the Hand discussion subforum for general discussion on poker hands (such played by AI, or how would AI play it). Access is unrestricted.

We have created the Poker papers subforum for general discussion on poker papers (that might or might not be hosted on PokerAI). Access is unrestricted.

We have merged NL-Ring and SNG/MTT forums into single common forum. This was done for two reasons: To get more discussions going on, and to avoid duplicated discussions, as for now the topics are on fundamental things that are relevant to both forums.
